Hands on Training
ALN’s 16 week Building Trades training program is primarily hands-on and instructs students in the skills required to maintain electrical systems, perform plumbing repairs, carry out carpentry tasks, repair drywall and learn painting using a variety of techniques. The approach taken is to demonstrate the skills and then allow students to try it themselves. Our fully equipped trai

ning facility is designed to simulate a real world working environment. Following 12 weeks in the classroom and workshop, students complete a 4 week Work Experience Placement. Students who complete the skills training receive a certificate in Building Maintenance and Repair as well as certifications in WHMIS, Health and Safety and First Aid and CPR.
