Few other pieces I finished up with the labradorite batch. Some of my favorite jasper/agate in the first pic. Stuff takes an amazing polish and has very nice patterns to it. Second id say is a form of jasper with some hematite and chalcedony inclusions. Last two are of a banded porcelain agate with lots of revealed fractures(pretty typical for coming out of the ) possibly identified as a "crazy lace" due to the pattern on there according to a few of my American followers, however I haven't dug into that myself

Searched for this ever since I began my journey into minerals and lapidary. Only managed to get a handful of smaller pieces out of the two raw specimens I purchased. Shown here is only the single best piece from the batch that shows color on both sides with relative ease. At the beginning of this hobby, labradorite quickly became my personal favorite mineral, so I searched and searched to get some true Canadian labradorite. Personally, im happy with what I have, but I would love to find much more some day

Just a little amethyst post since a coworker recently asked about specifically the amethyst I have in my collection

A few that i haven't gotten around to polishing yet. Some beautiful banding and patterns to these. Definitely think they'll turn out amazing when I do get to polish them.

So, I recently realized I was coming up on a year of posting here. I've learned a ton, got to know a lot of fellow rock lovers and of course expanded my collection, and I'm thankful for it all. I'd like to do a small giveaway as a thank you for the support I've received. I've decided I will draw 2 names, and each will receive the opportunity to claim either the 4 stones pictured or the 4 stones in the surprise bag.(whichever name is drawn first gets first choice) Now, I'm willing to attempt shipping for anyone who can not make it to pick-up in the Truro, NS area. But it would be at your cost, if that is a problem I apologize but I'm only small here🤷.

RULES:
*Dates to enter Feb 4th-Feb 18th 2024
*Must either pick up reward in Truro, Nova Scotia area or be willing to pay the shipping.(I haven't actually shipped any out personally so I can't give an estimate)
*In order to enter you must be following like this post and tag 2 friends who might be interested in the comments.
*Once the names are drawn you will have 24hrs to reply, failure to reply will result in me drawing a new name

Best of luck to anyone who enters

Apologies for my inactivity for those who still follow along. I'll be honest, I've been doing a fair bit of polishing in spurts but winters alone are rough mentally and life's kicking my ass the past year.. Just wanted to share some of the work I've put off posting and say I'm not gone yet.. I will say 2024 has already brought me some beautiful gems (all pictured were found on the one trip I made) and I'm hopeful for a good year👌
