We are working on a partial re-wire this week removing the remaining ungrounded wiring.
The house had an upgrade a few years ago where the ungrounded wires were protected by GFCI devices. Unfortunately due to the age and the heat cause by the fixtures the wires are so brittle the wire covering shatters when they are moved.
Time for a complete re-wire!
