Job Title: Waste Collection Specialist
Location: Truro, NS
Job Type: Part Time
Shift: 7am - 4pm

Job Summary
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Waste Collection Specialist to join our sanitation team. You will be responsible for the curbside collection of residential or commercial waste, recyclables, and organic materials. This is a physically demanding role that is essential to keeping our community clean and safe.

Key Responsibilities
• Waste Collection: Manually or mechanically load refuse into collection trucks according to assigned routes.
• Safety Compliance: Operate lifting mechanisms and vehicle equipment safely, following all OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Route Efficiency: Assist drivers in navigating routes efficiently and ensuring all scheduled stops are completed.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order.
• Public Interaction: Represent the company professionally when interacting with residents and business owners.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8–10 hour shift.
• Environment: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, rain, snow).
• Skills: Strong situational awareness and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Licensing: High school diploma or GED preferred. A valid driver’s license is required; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a significant plus.
• Reliability: Must have a proven track record of punctuality and attendance
