We’re currently experiencing a rainfall deficit of over 300 mm — and that’s a big deal for our lawns and our community’s water supply. 🌱💦

We kindly ask all our valued clients to hold off on watering lawns until conditions improve. Overwatering during this dry period can stress local resources and won’t benefit your grass the way you might think — lawns naturally slow their growth to protect themselves in drought conditions.

Due to the dry conditions we’ve been experiencing, we kindly ask our valued clients to be mindful of water usage. If you must water your lawn, please limit it to 2–3 times per week for 45 minutes at a time.

💡 We’d actually prefer if you didn’t water at all during this dry spell — it helps conserve water and prevents unnecessary stress on your lawn.

The RCMP has yet again broken the law and carried out an unlawful raid of a Mi'kmaw trading post on unceded Mi'kmaw lands. This time the RCMP raided Top Shelf Trading at 878 Willow St. Millbrook First Nation.

The shop re-opened hours later. We encourage all supporters of Mi'kmaw rights to attend a protest rally to be held outside the RCMP detachment in Millbrook and to show your support for Top Shelf Trading and our constitutionally protected Mi'kmaw treaty rights!

We are protesting the RCMP’s continued violations of our inherent and treaty protected rights as Mi’kmaq people. Despite being a sovereign nation, recognized under the 1752 Peace and Friendship Treaty and affirmed by Section 35 of the Canadian Constitution, we face repeated raids on our treaty truckhouses, shops lawfully operating on our own land. These actions are not only unjust, they are illegal under Canadian and international law. As Mi’kmaq, we have the right to sell goods and sustain ourselves through a moderate livelihood. We will not stand by while our sovereignty and rights are disregarded.
