🏃‍♀️ Something VERY fun is coming to Manotick! 🧡

I’m so excited to be a sponsor of the Manotick Backyard Ultra & Family Fun Event, happening October 3rd, right here in our village — and I’ll also be lining up to run the Ultra myself! 😅🏃‍♀️

If you’ve never heard of a Backyard Ultra, the concept is wonderfully simple (and slightly unhinged 😂): runners complete a 6.7 km loop every hour, on the hour, for as many hours as they can keep going. There’s no set finish distance — you just keep showing up at the start line each hour until you decide you’re done. The last person standing wins! These races can go on for days and days (and nights and nights) and can be pretty inspiring to witness.

The course starts at 692 Coffee & Bar and winds through the roads, trails, parks and bridges of beautiful Manotick. My personal goal is 100 km over 15 hours, which means I’ll be seeing a lot of the village that day.

But you definitely don’t need to be an ultra runner to be part of it! There’s also a 5K run and a Family 1K, making this a really fun event for runners, kids, families, friends and spectators.

Even better, 50% of the Family 1K registration fee will be donated to the CHEO Children’s Hospital Griffin Bell Golden Endowment Fund. 🧡

One of my favourite things about living and working in Manotick is the incredible sense of community here, and I’m really proud to support an event that brings people together in such a fun way.

Come run, bring the kids, cheer us on, grab a coffee, or just stop by and be part of the day!

And if you see me somewhere around loop 12, 13, 14 or 15… encouragement and snacks will be gratefully accepted. 😂🙌
