Eligibility

Homeowners must provide proof of ownership and show that the home is their primary residence to qualify for the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Visit the Enbridge Gas website for a complete list of eligibility criteria and to get started with the Canada Greener Homes Grant process.

Note: You do not need to be an Enbridge customer to qualify for the grant.

How the application process works

The Ontario homeowner journey for new applicants (effective January 4, 2023)



STEP 1: Go to the Enbridge (HER+ program) web page to get started
Select a service organization



STEP 2A: Pre-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation
Prioritize your renovations



STEP 2B: Interest-free loan (optional)
Apply for the Canada Greener Homes Loan



STEP 3: Retrofit your home
Consult your Renovation Upgrade Report (RUR)



STEP 4: Post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation
Your energy advisor will send you the documents by email or mail



STEP 5: Receive your Canada Greener Homes Grant and HER+ program rebate
Enjoy the benefits and savings of a greener home

The Government of Canada, NRCan and its family of brands (ENERGY STAR, EnerGuide) never solicit over the telephone, or by email or go door-to-door asking to enter Canadians’ homes to inspect, sell, or rent heating and cooling products. After numerous calls today from our clients, I decided to post. Please be careful with high pressure sales tactics and use of terms such as seniors rebates and the greener homes grant. I've attached a link to the current energy grant with all pertaining information and grant requirements and eligibility.

Understanding Air Conditioners
An air conditioner controls the temperature, humidity and general quality of the air in your home. As part of a central heating and cooling system, an air conditioner draws heat out of the house and transfers cooler air inside. When comparing Trane air conditioning systems, check the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio). Systems usually range from 13 to 23. A higher SEER rating means greater energy efficiency, similar to how a car with higher miles per gallon gets better fuel efficiency.
