Yesterday, a Space became a Place 💚
Four years ago, when we were still a fairly young studio, Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH) took a chance on us. They gave us our very first institutional project: a collaboration with the Squamish Nation to create something truly meaningful for East Vancouver.
It hasn't been a straight line to get here. Between budget shifts and navigating the "fine print" of urban design, this project was a labor of love (and a lot of persistence!).
The Milestone:
Yesterday, we reached substantial completion. But more importantly, we witnessed the powerful raising of a Welcome Figure. Standing there with respected elders, community leaders, and local school kids reminded us why we do what we do 🥁
To our community and partners:
To the contractors, engineers, arborists, and other consultants who help us turn lines on a page into reality - thank you. And to and the , thank you for trusting us with this sacred piece of the neighborhood.
Landscape architecture is about more than just plants, pavers, grades, and CAD drawings. It’s about creating a home for stories to be told. We couldn’t be prouder to see this one begin 🌿🙌
