The pivotal year of 1961 saw the start of fitted kitchen production utilizing melamine-coated chipboard, branded as 'bau-for-mat Einbauküchen'. By 1970, the company celebrated achieving €2 million in sales and a dedicated team of approximately 90 employees. The following year, Wilfried Baumann took the helm of 'Wilhelm Baumann', propelling the business to new heights. By 1984, the company's growth was evident with sales soaring to €50 million and a workforce of around 320 employees. A significant milestone occurred in 1985 when the company rebranded to 'bau-for-mat Küchen', under the leadership of Siegfried Westerholz as Manager. The expansion continued with the acquisition of 'Burger Küchenmöbel' in Saxony-Anhalt in 1991. Delf Baumann, representing the third generation, joined the family enterprise in 1996, further solidifying its legacy. The turn of the millennium saw the inauguration of the Haus Beck exhibition and training centre, a testament to the brand's commitment to excellence and innovation, following extensive renovations. In 2009, the company introduced the 'cube 130' product line at its exhibition, marking another chapter in its story of continuous evolution and dedication to crafting spaces that inspire. In 2024, Bauformat is poised to make a significant splash in British Columbia's luxury kitchen design scene, with the grand opening of a beautiful 5000 SF showroom nestled in the vibrant heart of Yaletown, Vancouver.
