Our work doesn’t happen in isolation.

On a project like this, protecting the work around us is just as important as the work we’re there to do.

Our team wrapped the stained glass skylight, hand-masked the ornamental plasterwork and protected the surrounding marble, ironwork and finished surfaces before we started.

Respecting the work of other trades is part of doing our job well.

24 years with CGI says a lot.

Jose is the kind of presence on a project that makes things run smoothly. Communication is clear, the site is well managed, and problems are handled before anyone has to ask.

After 24 years, he’s also picked up a few “Colinisms” along the way and learned to put up with Melissa's relentless nail-scratch tests. Both may be occupational hazards of sticking around this long

Some of our work starts after the project is finished.

Every year, we return to a number of properties for scheduled maintenance. Exteriors weather, finishes wear, and catching it early helps protect the original work before small issues become bigger ones.

For us, it’s also a chance to see what’s performing well and where we can make adjustments for even better longevity.

The goal? Come back, do the work, and leave it looking like nothing happened.

Fifteen years with the same wallcovering specialist. That doesn't happen by accident.

Our partnership with Khuram Shazad of Twill Wallcovering has been built on projects where the materials are too complex and the margins too narrow to leave anything to chance. Thirty different wallcovering specifications on one project. LED elements, glass-bead surfaces, hand-painted gilded panels, scale coverings. There was never any question of who would handle them.

Three years. One project.

Gold leaf ceilings. Ornamental installation. Lime wash. Murals. Thirty different wallcovering specifications. The scope kept growing because the trust did too.

Not every project fits a standard scope.

This cherry blossom tree was built up in layers, carved, painted, and finished with hand-placed flowers as part of a full-room installation in a nursery.

Some requests you just say yes to.

CGI is the only certified installer in British Columbia.

That didn't come from placing large orders. It came from years of training, testing, and applying these systems on real projects until the suppliers noticed.

The same goes for our relationship with Consistent use and a genuine understanding of how these materials behave is what earns that kind of partnership.

For designers specifying at the highest level, who you work with determines what you have access to.

Some designers call us before the scope is finalized. That's not a bid. That's a relationship.

Clear communication, dependable work, and a smooth, issue-free process.

The finish is what the client sees. The trust we build is what brings us back.

Most people meet CGI on site, but Su Jin has already been working on your project for weeks.

As our estimating and pre-sale lead, she's the first person on a new project and stays engaged until it hits the field. She examines the plans, catches inconsistencies, and visits the sites weekly to ensure that what was specified is what's actually happening.

The work starts long before the first paintbrush stroke.

What works on a sample doesn't always hold at full scale.

On this Southlands home, we encountered a mix of existing and new Douglas fir. Wood behaves how it wants to, and we knew that going in. The differences were worked through during sampling before installation began.

Once everything was in place, tone and finish were refined on-site until the beams, millwork, and details read as cohesive under real lighting.

Small adjustments, made at the right time, make all the difference.
