This Labour Day, we are recognizing the people whose hard work carried Bray through a busy construction season. Our team brought their experience and commitment to projects of all types this summer, adapting to unique challenges along the way.

It was a pleasure as always to rally our team together in support of Habitat for Humanity!

Taking a page out of Habitat’s book, we organized a Sign-a-Stud initiative across our active sites and offices, giving everyone at Bray the chance to provide well wishes to the families Habitat is working hard to provide well made, affordable homes to.

We’re happy for our ongoing collaboration. Thank you for the life changing work you do!

We were fortunate to be a part of the City of Ottawa’s tour of several water and wastewater treatment facilities, getting to showcase our work at Hurdman Bridge Pumping Station.

The tour was provided to five high school graduates who are entering engineering programs or are currently attending post-secondary engineering programs. Louis W. Bray, together with City of Ottawa Construction Management, City of Ottawa Operations, and Jacobs Engineering, presented information to these future industry professionals on the key steps involved in the station upgrades. This included the initial design, tender process, contract award, project scheduling, constructability, challenges faced by project stakeholders, how the station is used, and where the station feeds.

We are grateful as ever for the opportunity to be a part of the learning experience for graduates. We wish these future engineers the best of luck in their studies and careers.

This summer, we were proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Perth Wastewater Lagoon Expansion Project, an important project for Bray and a major milestone for the Town of Perth.

The project will increase wastewater treatment capacity to serve the equivalent of 10,500 people, which will enable the construction of many future homes for Perth’s growing community.

We look forward to continuing our work here into the fall as we help bring this project to life.

Louis W. Bray had the honour of sponsoring and awarding bursaries to four graduating high school students interested in pursuing a career in construction and the skilled trades. We were incredibly proud to offer these bursaries to young individuals who show initiative, drive, commitment, and who mirror our own values.

This initiative was especially meaningful to us, because it also gave us the chance to give back to schools attended by members of our team. We extend our sincere thanks to Cathy Major, Greg Bates, Nathan St. Louis, and Josh Sturgess for representing Bray and serving as strong role models for students interested in pursuing careers in our industry. Your presence helped highlight the long-term growth that a career in construction can offer.

Congratulations to our bursary recipients: Brycen Michaud of Tagwi Secondary School - UCDSB, Lee Anthony Villaflor of Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute - UCDSB, Arlo O’Byrne of Cornwall Collegiate Vocational School - UCDSB, and Zackary Savoie of Char-Lan District High School - UCDSB. Recently, we were proud to join the groundbreaking ceremony for Beechcliffe Homes, a 33-unit townhome development and Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa’s largest project to date.

As construction begins, Bray is proud to contribute to a project that will provide thoughtfully designed townhomes with garages, private backyards, and easy access to local services and community connections.

Congratulations to Habitat for Humanity on this exciting milestone. We look forward to our continued collaboration!

We hosted the official opening of our Kanata location, bringing our team together to recognize another important milestone in Bray’s continued growth.

This office provides additional space for our expanding team and supports outreach to Ottawa’s west end and surrounding communities. More than a new facility, this space represents the continued evolution of our company and the opportunities ahead.

We are proud of how far we've come and excited to be shaping the future of Bray together.

We are very proud of our all-women’s team for participating in HOPE Volleyball SummerFest this past weekend!

Together, we at Bray were able to raise $810 for charity, surpassing our original goal by more than 60%. Thank you to everyone who came together to support our team, CHEO, Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa, Children at Risk, Ottawa, and Shepherds of Good Hope!

We hope everyone has had a wonderful start to July!

Although the weather pushed our Canada day celebration indoors, our team came together to keep the festivities going. Thanks to everyone who helped adjust plans, set up inside, and make sure there was great food for all. It was a great reminder of the teamwork and willingness to help that make Bray such a special place to be.
