Carpenter responsibilities include:
• Reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches
• Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed
• Cutting, shaping and smoothing lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
• Working knowledge of building codes
• Communicate finished work orders to supervisors
• Follow established procedures
• Lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls, ensuring they are leveled and compatible
• Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by suing raw or pre-constructed items
Skills & Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2-3 years framing experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools, including drills, saws, nail guns,..etc
• Must have own transportation and be able to travel to various job sites
• Owning tools is an asset
