Here's a closer look at last week's move for our friends at United Engineering Ltd. Chew Excavating hauled a self-propelled modular transporter for United Engineering Ltd. from their Sidney shop to their Victoria location.

Moving specialized equipment, like a SPMT, takes careful planning, coordination and the right team to get the job done safely and efficiently. Another day on the road supporting the equipment and infrastructure projects that keep Greater Victoria moving.

Another look at the work going on behind the scenes to help keep Greater Victoria powered.

Chew Excavating has been busy supporting our Ralmax Group of Companies sister company, Salish Sea Industrial Services, on this project. From excavation and trenching to the heavy equipment work that happens behind the scenes, it’s all part of building and maintaining the infrastructure our community relies on.

Proud to be part of the team helping keep Greater Victoria moving — and powered.

Precision with every scoop...

The tides are helping dictate the schedule for work on the infrastructure upgrades around the Selkirk Bridge. That means some of the most important work happens after the sun goes down.
This night shift is all about precision — careful excavation, experienced operators and teamwork to make the most of each tidal window.

A huge shoutout to Chew Excavating's Hydro Crew for going above and beyond.

After putting in a full day on site, a trouble call came in on Sooke Road. Without hesitation, the crew doubled down, responded to the call, and worked until 2 a.m. to help get the power back on for the community.

These are the long hours and behind-the-scenes efforts that often go unseen, but they make a real difference when people need it most.

Thank you to our Hydro Crew for your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to keeping the lights on.
