It appears to be texture removal season. This has 2 of 3 coats of mud and will finish up nicely. This older home has unknown stains forming on the surface so it will recieve a stain blocking primer before being top coated. Floor paper was taped down with blue painters tape to ensure they stay protected throughout the finishing process.

Not every installation is straight forward and sometimes you need to start backwards before you can go forwards.

The wall on the right is true to the structure while the wall on the left isn't. I had to start in this area first and work backwards to make the joints line up properly in the hall. They might not line up with the joints in the kitchen but that's the cost of homeowners who change their mind mid job.

Before you start the job you should have 90% of your decisions made up front to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Indecisiveness will cost you money.

I'd rather do a good job and never have a viral post than get a million views for a picture of bad work.
