Before and After shots of our recently completed Meter Centre install for a 12 Unit apartment building in Welland. This entire building had been running off of one hydro meter making it impossible to know how much power was being used by each tenant. This would result in the tenant being charged a flat rate for electricity with potential unnecessary costs to the tenant or the owner. By upgrading to a meter centre each apartment will have its own dedicated hydro meter to accurately measure readings for billing. This ensures the tenant only pays for the exact amount of power they consume.

We recently completed this commercial fire alarm system for a client in Pelham. This system plays a vital role in protecting people and preserving property by detecting fire in its early stages, alerting occupants and coordinating emergency responses. It might not be the most glamorous part of your buildings electrical system, but it’s certainly essential in case of emergencies.

This week we put the finishing touches on this St. Catharines basement renovation. One of the biggest challenges on this project was how to adequately light this new kitchen counter space located beneath an existing bulkhead. With ductwork located almost directly behind the drywall there wasn’t enough space to mount a light box, pot light or even run standard residential 14/2 wire. With just enough room to fish in a very small low voltage wire we went with these 2.5” puck lights normally used for under cabinet lighting and couldn’t be happier with the results!

Knowing the up to date electrical codes is an absolute must for any electrician but having a good understanding of the current building codes is also very important. This is especially true in regard to Fire Life Safety and Fire Separations.

This was very critical for our Air BNB project in Niagara Falls, our client is turning a single home into two separate rental units. With knowledge of the building codes we know what type of smoke detector should be installed and exactly where it should be located.

This project required 11 wired detectors interconnected between both units. Additionally the building code required the installation of a duct smoke detector. This unit has two tubes that get installed within the duct work. The sample tube collects air and directs it into a smoke detector mounted outside of the duct. A smaller tube than allows the air to exit and go back into the duct. Once installed and wired if any smoke is detected within the duct work the detector will go into alarm and shut down the furnace. This prevents the furnace from circulating air which can rapidly spread unwanted smoke and heat throughout the home.

Had to endure some bitter cold this week to complete the exterior lighting at our Pelham new build but the results were worth it!

With this being a large country property we were able to use a combination of LED soffit pot lights to give functional lights and serious curb appeal. While adding LED Wallpacks in the gables of each side and back of the home. These lights are separately switched in order to light up the surrounding property when need be.
