There’s a first time for everything. 🙃
Usually, our posts are about the beautiful installs we do and the amazing clients we meet. But today, we’re sharing a bit of the “behind-the-scenes” reality of being a small business owner.
We recently completed a job for a client who booked us weeks in advance, only to be told after the work was done that the money had already been spent elsewhere. Despite our attempts to be flexible and offer a payment plan, our communications (emails and physical notices) went completely ignored.
The kicker? We were told that as a “retired lawyer,” they look forward to seeing us in court. ⚖️
Here’s the thing: Being a professional—retired or not—means understanding that contracts are meant to be honored. Small businesses aren’t banks, and we aren’t a hobby. We are families, we are workers, and we have a right to be paid for our labor.
We’ve officially handed this over to collections. We’d much rather be focusing on our great customers, but we will always stand up for our team and our rights.
