What I wish every homeowner knew about the word friable.

Friable = crumbles easily by hand pressure.

Non-friable = held together by something (like vinyl or cement).

Here's what homeowners don't know:

Non-friable asbestos (like floor tile) becomes friable when you:
🔴 Sand it
🔴 Grind it
🔴 Saw it
🔴 Power scrape it
🔴 Let it deteriorate for 40 years

So that "safe" floor tile? The moment you take a sander to it, it's now friable — and releasing fibers.
