Open the cabinet doors for your kitchen sink before going to bed.
This will help alleviate the possibility of having frozen pipes (it's actually the water that freezes, but everyone blames the pipes)

If you're really concerned about the pipes freezing, open a tap in the cold zone and let it run on a trickle.

I was going to make a post about how you should all stop installing 'frost free' outside taps.
Then I remembered how much money I'm making replacing them.
As well as all the money remediation companies are making when they come to dry your house out after it floods. Not to mention all the work contractors are getting by redoing your basements.
So, ignore this post completely. Keep installing those pieces of s #!t and I'll see you soon.

For anyone looking for phone service, whatever you do, do not use RingCentral

I wanted to cancel my service with them. I started this process at the beginning of March.
Finalized today, the third week in September.

Think about that for a second. It has taken me more than 6 months to get this done.

There are good companies out there. This is not one of them.

A vacuum breaker is added protection on your outside tap. They prevent water from being pulled back into your house. This comes in handy if you're using a chemical lawn fertilizer that's attached to your hose.

Client- Hi, I'm finishing my basement and I need a plumber's licence number to submit to the city

Me - Are you looking for a quote to have me do the work?

Client - No, I just need your licence number to submit to the city. I'm doing the work myself.

Me - Lmfao. If I'm not doing the work there is no way I'm just going to give you my licence number.

Client hangs up.
