Is a new roof on your list this year? 🔽

Asphalt shingles have a sealant strip that needs warmth to activate. Once the sun heats it up, the shingles bond to each other and create the tight, wind-resistant, waterproof seal your roof depends on.

The sweet spot for that is warm, dry weather, which is exactly what an Ontario summer delivers. Do it in the cold and you run into problems.

Shingles get brittle and can crack while they're being cut and nailed. The sealant may not activate for weeks or even months, which leaves the shingles vulnerable to being lifted by winter winds before they've bonded.

Some manufacturers won't even honour the warranty if shingles are installed below their minimum temperature.

Summer also means dry decking, safer footing for the crew, and a faster, cleaner install with no snow or ice to work around. You get a better result and a roof that's fully sealed and protected heading into the next winter.
