In January 2026, CPI successfully met the eligibility criteria for certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) through WBE Canada, recognizing our organization as a woman-owned and operated business within corporate and government supplier diversity programs.

This milestone reflects the leadership, dedication and expertise that drive our team every day. As a female-owned construction company,, weโ€™re excited to continue building meaningful partnerships and contributing to more inclusive supply chains within our industry. We look forward to connecting with fellow Women Business Enterprises, corporations, and government organizations to collaborate and deliver high-quality construction solutions.

Today, on International Womenโ€™s Day, weโ€™re proud to celebrate the incredible women who help build our company, our projects, and our industry.

Construction has long been seen as a male-dominated field, but every day we see firsthand how women are shaping its future โ€” in leadership, in the office, and on job sites across our projects. Their expertise, resilience, creativity, and commitment strengthen not only our team, but the entire construction community.

As a female-owned company, weโ€™re especially proud to work alongside talented women who bring diverse perspectives, strong leadership, and a collaborative spirit to everything we do. Their contributions make our projects better and our workplaces stronger.

Today we honour the women on our team, the women we partner with, and all the women across the industry who continue to break barriers and pave the way for the next generation.

Hereโ€™s to building more opportunities, more inclusion, and an even stronger industry together.

CPI completed the construction of this 2,150 sq ft pre-engineered wood truss building, designed to support efficient wastewater trash removal operations. Despite its small stature, the building boasts an impressive 23 tons of rebar to create a foundation strong enough to hold all the mechanical equipment. This project underscores CPIโ€™s leadership in building high-performance infrastructure that supports critical utility operations.

Project highlights include built using pre-fabricated wood trusses for faster, more sustainable construction, durable and functional design tailored for wastewater facility requirements, and delivered on time and on budget!

In collaboration with Canada, First Nations stakeholders, Teshima Architects and project subcontractors, CPI held a powerful and memorable ash burying ceremony โ€” a moment to connect, reflect, and celebrate alongside the many artists, musicians, storytellers, and Indigenous collaborators who are helping bring the First Nations Voices soundscape installation to life.

Participants gathered at what will be the heart of the Visitor Center beneath the skylight aligned to the North Star, where the ashes of trees removed during site preparation were placed and buried, carrying with them our intentions for the building, the land, and the community it will serve.

Together, we created a smudge and shared teachings about the Four Sacred Medicines โ€” cedar, sage, sweetgrass, and to***co โ€” and invited participants to offer to***co with their personal reflections and hopes. It was a meaningful opportunity to witness contractors, staff, and community members come together in ceremony. Some of the comments from the participants included:

๐Ÿ”ธ It made me feel really good and felt like we were doing a great thing
๐Ÿ”ธ Every ceremony I learn new things and it makes me so happy
๐Ÿ”ธ I am excited to see how this will make the building better and get to know more about Indigenous Culture

These moments remind us that building with purpose means more than bricks and beams โ€” it's about creating space for culture, connection, and care.

On this day of remembrance and reflection, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. We recognize the ongoing impacts of these institutions and the need for continued truth-telling, listening and learning.

At CPI, reconciliation is not a one-day act, but an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to:

๐Ÿ”ธ Building meaningful, long-term relationships with Indigenous partners
๐Ÿ”ธ Amplifying Indigenous voices and expertise on our projects
๐Ÿ”ธ Engaging in continuous education and dialogue with our team
๐Ÿ”ธ Creating inclusive opportunities within our industry

We recognize that true reconciliation requires humility, accountability, and action. Today, and every day, we commit to walking this path with respect and purpose.

We respectfully acknowledge we work on Treaty One Territoryโ€”traditional land of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Lakota, and Dene peoplesโ€”and the homeland of the Red River Mรฉtis. The water that sustains us comes from Shoal Lake in Treaty Three Territory, home to the Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

On September 17, we were honoured to join the Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Centre, Inc and community members in Flin Flon to officially break ground on the keekih Housing Initiative.

The ceremony began with a blessing from a local Elder where traditional medicines of sage and to***co were incorporated.

This moment marks more than the start of constructionโ€”it represents the beginning of a space where healing, community and sustainability come together. As Construction Managers, we are grateful to support a project that is deeply rooted in Indigenous traditions and community well-being.

Stay tuned as the build continues to take shape.

๐ŸŒพCPI was proud to sponsor this yearโ€™s FortWhyte Alive Harvest Supper in support of FortWhyte Farms!

It was a wonderful evening of great food, community, and celebration โ€” all in support of youth programs that provide hands-on employment training, outdoor education, and healthy food for our community. ๐Ÿ’š Weโ€™re honoured to back an award-winning social enterprise that creates opportunities and reinvests 100% of proceeds right back into the community.

Exciting progress on site โ€” the footings and foundation walls are now complete, and the building is starting to take shape! With the structure emerging from the ground, you begin to see how this award-winning design by Moriyama Teshima Architects will blend seamlessly with the natural landscape of Canadaโ€™s first national urban park.

This project with Parks Canada is a proud reflection of our commitment to sustainable building practices, partnership with Indigenous communities, and creating spaces that celebrate connection โ€” to the land, to culture, and to one another. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to bring this incredible space to life.
