The family wanted to share George’s obituary and service details for anyone who would like to join us in remembering and celebrating his life.

A service will be held on Friday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Boniface Cathedral, followed by a reception at the Hotel Fort Garry. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Diabetes Canada in George’s memory.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of George Rajotte, Founder & CEO of Western Construction Services and Western Industrial Services Ltd.

George was a respected leader, a dedicated entrepreneur, and a valued member of the community. Through his vision and hard work, he built companies that have made a lasting impact across Manitoba and beyond.

He was a builder, a mentor, and someone who took great pride in the people around him. His dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence helped shape WCSI and WISL into what they are today.

He will be deeply missed by our team, our industry, and the community. We will carry his legacy forward by continuing to uphold the quality, productivity, and safety standards he built into everything we do.

Our thoughts are with his family and all who had the privilege of working with him.

Western Construction Services Inc. is looking for a motivated Construction Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager Co-op Student who’s ready to gain real, hands-on experience in the construction industry.

We specialize in concrete restoration and rehabilitation, working on parkades, commercial buildings, and structural repair projects across Manitoba. Safety, quality, and mentorship are at the core of what we do.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll work alongside our project management and site teams, gaining experience both in the office and on active construction sites. This is a great opportunity for students interested in construction management, civil engineering technology, or project management.

You’ll gain experience with:
• Project coordination and scheduling
• Construction documentation and reporting
• Site visits and subcontractor coordination
• Safety documentation and compliance
• Materials, deliveries, and equipment tracking
• Real project meetings and decision-making

We’re looking for students who:
• Are currently enrolled in a relevant program
• Are organized, eager to learn, and take initiative
• Are comfortable in both office and site environments
• Have basic computer skills (construction software is a bonus)
• Have a valid driver’s license (asset)
