Throughout its history, the firm has taken pride in providing quality structural consulting and project management services to clients in Manitoba and Western Canada. A summary of Charleson Engineering services is as follows:
a. Professional structural design, inspection and certification services for new construction, additions and renovations. We have experience with commercial, institutional, i

ndustrial and residential buildings and support structures. Building condition assessment reports – We write reports to include recommendations for repair/replacement and life cycle budgeting of a building. Forensic Engineering – Review and inspection of an existing building condition, in consultation with the owner and contractor, with recommendations to be provided in a report. Working as part of an owner assembled consulting team on a project, or assembling a team of professionals from our own network of contacts. Structural LEED and IDP experience for school projects. Currently, the firm is operated by Don Charleson and Ken Charleson. Together, Don and Ken have more than 60 years of structural consulting experience.

Don's funeral will take place on January 24, 2026, 11 AM at All Saints Anglican Church, 521 Broadway in Winnipeg. All are welcome to join the family after the service for refreshments. Internment will take place at a later date. Don's obituary will be published in the upcoming Saturday's edition of The Free Press.

Please welcome Mary Mazur to the Charleson Engineering Ltd. Team! Mary has been in the background for many years, raising the next generation and maintaining a basic website and FB page. This fall, some staff changes opened an opportunity for Mary to join Ken in managing the company, returning it to a “mom and pop” organization! Where Mary goes, their homeschoolers follow, so visitors to the office may have the opportunity to greet more of the Charleson family, and Blackberry, our office mascot.

We would like to thank Debbie Peters for her years of dedicated service here at Charleson Engineering Ltd. She has been the heart and soul of our company since coming on board in 2012. Debbie retired recently and we all miss her terribly, but wish her all the best in her retirement.

Charleson Engineering Ltd. would like to pay tribute to Charlie Paul of Complete Waterproofing and More. Charlie was a friend and a colleague, admired for his ability to find creative solutions for difficult problems and for his high quality work. It was truly a pleasure doing business with him. Charlie passed away earlier this week from Covid19 and we will greatly miss working with him. We offer his family our heartfelt condolences. Rest in peace Charlie.
