EXTREME COLD WARNINGS ISSUED FOR EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR THE EXTREME SOUTHEAST CORNER....

—A bitterly cold arctic air mass will remain over Manitoba for the next few days. Extreme wind chills are forecast to exceed -40 in most of southern Manitoba, and -45 in northern Manitoba.—

Significant warming is forecast for Wednesday associated with an approaching warm front.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Make sure your home is well-insulated, the heating system is working efficiently and cracks and drafts are sealed.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.

Good Morning, everyone.

It’s chilly but surprisingly sunny across many areas of the Province including Winnipeg....

You can see by the satellite imagery the thick clouds are at the moment confined to Eastern North Dakota, Minnesota, and far Southeastern Manitoba.

We are expecting them to try and push a little further north and northwest today with Periods of Snow but the dry air is winning out thus far.

In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine!

The knotted signs of an infestation were discovered last fall, and on Wednesday Winnipeg forestry crews found their first emerald ash borer beetle larva tucked beneath the bark of a St. Boniface tree.
