On Centre Design Build Inc. is seeking multi-talent individual Junior Construction Office Co-Ordinator. ON Center is a family owned commercial/residential general contractor in Vaughan and working on projects GTA wide. Being a smaller firm, our hire will play a big role in the day to day activities our operation and they will be relied upon to produce and deliver productivity for their various responsibilities. We are looking for a junior construction co-ordinator and company administrator to assist in organizing and executing projects. The hire will work closely with the owner, estimator and accountant to coordinate materials, trades, scheduling, etc. and at the same time take care of the basic administration needs of the business. We are looking for someone who can grow and learn quickly with the goal of moving up to a management position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the offices’ day to day needs including administrative duties such as filing, answering the phone, monitoring office emails and receiving deliveries.
- Maintenance of vehicle insurance slips, licence plate stickers, CVOR, etc.
- Assist in the estimating of commercial projects. Perform basic take offs, distribute tender documents, manage tender quires, prepare submittal documents, participate in tender closings, etc.
- Prepare and maintain all pre-construction requirements such as preparation of construction contracts, issue sub trade purchase orders, ensure all necessary permits are in place, etc.
- Coordinate and designate work to subcontractors and suppliers as directed.
- Prepare, log and co-ordinate all construction related documentation as required including Purchase Orders, Change Orders, RFI’s, Site Instructions, submittals, meeting minutes, closeout documents, etc.
- Procure pricing from suppliers/vendors and purchase materials as directed.
- Log, co-ordinate and assist with the review of shop drawings.
- Prepare invoicing, enter bills, issue various reports and maintain job costs primarily using QuickBooks.
- Maintain and assist with the implementation of the company health and safety policies. Responsible for assembling and maintenance jobsite safety boards, WSIB and insurance clearance, etc.
- On occasion, pick up or deliver various packages, letters, etc.
Qualifications:
· Must be reliable, trustworthy, honest and well mannered. The applicant must show up on time every day without excuse. Extremely detailed and organize Comfortable working independently in a smaller office environment. Ability to manage and facilitate numerous projects simultaneously. Ability to work with tight deadlines, multitask and follow up. Ability to maintain professional conduct and a good working relationship at all times with owners, trades, suppliers, clients and consultants. Strong familiarity with construction documentation including the ability to provide assistance to the project manager, and estimator in construction. Strong grasp of the English language both written and oral Preferably PC computer savvy and must have a strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and proficient with MS Office (Word, Project, etc.) Experience with using QuickBooks
Educational requirement:
