[ENG below] Ein Sprinter 907 mit 4x4-Antrieb und 3.500 kg Gesamtgewicht will nicht nur wegen der Nutzlast besonders leicht ausgebaut werden. Daher suchen und finden wir an jeder Ecke Möglichkeiten zum Ultraleichtbau. Was meint man wiegt so ein Seitenpanel aus 4 mm Pappel mit 4 mm Filz bespannt? Das sind grosszügig runtergerundet 2 kg!

Daher arbeiten wir jetzt schon und bieten demächst auch im Shop die UFF-Platte an: nur 0.75 kg je Quadratmeter. Das gleiche Schiebetürpanel wiegt nun unter 1 kg!

UFFP = Ultralight Filzfaser-Platten gibt es passend zu unserem 3D-Stretch-Filz in drei Farben: hellgrau, mittelgrau und dunkelgrau/anthrazit. Schaut demnächst auf shop.camperimperium.com vorbei!

A Sprinter 907 with allwheel drive and a total weight of 3,500 kg needs a particularly light camper conversion, and not just because of the payload. That's why we look for and find opportunities for ultra-lightweight construction on every corner. How much do you think a side panel made of 4 mm poplar covered with 4 mm felt lining weighs? Generously rounded down it’s 2 kg!

[ENG below] Hand aufs Herz, wer macht sich Gedanken über Müll und was mit unserem Müll passiert? Am liebsten niemand, doch da steht er. 🗑️♻️🌚

Auch wenn wir stets bemüht sind Müll und Abfall zu verringern, so lässt es sich in der Werkstatt und dem Camperbau kaum vermeiden. Die ausgebaute Bleibatterie, die gegen eine leistungsstarke Lithiumbatterie getauscht wurde, hat im Recyclingkreislauf nur einen geringen Stellenwert. Der Absorber-Kühlschrank muss dem sparsameren Kompressor-Kühlschrank weichen und neben etwas Eisen und Buntmetall, fällt eher mehr als weniger Kunststoffmüll an. Und die Chemietoilette? Naja, das ist einfach Sperrmüll.

Sich dessen bewusst werden, ist vielleicht der erste Schritt zur Besserung…daher zeigen wir Euch mal nicht nur die schöne Seite eines Camperausbaus 🥸

Hand on heart, who thinks about waste and what happens to our garbage? Preferably nobody, but whoops there it is. 🗑️♻️🌚

Even though we always try to reduce trash and junk, it is almost impossible to avoid it in the workshopy and especially while converting a camper. The old lead battery, which was exchanged for a powerful lithium battery, is of little value in the recycling cycle. The absorbtion fridge has to make way for the more economical compressor fridge, and apart from some iron and non-ferrous metal, there is rather more than less plastic waste. And the chemical toilet? Well, that's just bulk waste.

Awareness might be the first step, so we are also showing off the less pretty side of camper conversions 🥸

[ENG below] Ford Ranger, Tischer-Kabine und nun auch noch mit kompakter OGO-Komposttoilette! Wir fragen uns manchmal, wann die grossen Serienproduzenten von Caravan, Reisemobilen und Wohnkabinen endlich selbst darauf kommen Alternativen zum klassischer Chemietoilette anzubieten…🌚
und bis dahin bieten die Umrüstung von Chemie auf Komposttoilette oder Trenntoilette aller Marken an. Beim Retrofit sind wir beim Umbau manchmal etwas durch die vorhandene Ausbausubstanz limitiert, aber einer optisch und funktional ideale Lösung gibt es immer!

Ford Ranger, demountable Tischer pick-up cabin and now also with a compact OGO composting toilet! Sometimes, we wonder when the large series producers of caravans, motorhomes and trailers finally come themselves to offer alternatives to the classic chemical toilet ... 🌚 and until then we take over the conversion from chemical to composting toilet or separation toilet of all brands. In the case of retrofitting, we are sometimes somewhat limited by the existing structures, but there is always an optically and functionally ideal solution!

[ENG below] Geschwister ähneln sich und sind doch so unterschiedlich! Hier um mal wieder die Stille zu brechen der Vergleich von Mercedes Sprinter 906 von 2018 mit 2x4 Hinterradantrieb und dem „kleinen“ Bruder Sprinter 907 von 2023 mit 4x4 Allrad sowie Hymer ML-T Crossover Aufbau! Beide nun mit einer Pandora Camper Alarmanalge ausgestattet, wobei nur letzterer bereit für die erste Fernreise ist…work in progress, as usual!

Siblings are similar and yet so different! Here, to break the silence again, the comparison of Mercedes Sprinter 906 of 2018 with 2x4 rear wheel drive and the "little" brother Sprinter 907 of 2023 with 4x4 all-wheel drive as well as Hymer ML-T crossover body! Both now equipped with a Pandora Camper alarm system, with only the latter being ready for its first pre-summer trip...work in progress, as usual!

RVs are not cool, as if! Motorhomes, caravans and RVs of all kinds are also welcome at our camper garage. We not only replace the classic chemical toilet with compost or separation toilets, but also install Trigas sensors and retrofit inverters with lithium battery packs. So on, so on, so on…

[ENG below] Der VW-Bus, VW-Transporter oder auch als Bulli bekannt, ist nun bereits in der 7. bzw. 8. Generation und seit 72 Jahren weltweit unterwegs. Und vor allem die älteren Modelle finden immer mehr Liebhaber, die ihre „Busla“ hegen und pflegen. Doch mit fast 40 Jahren auf dem Buckel hat dieser VW T3 dann doch das eine oder andere Wehwehchen, das behoben werden muss.

Ein Klassiker hierbei ist ein Sprung in der doppelverglasten Scheibe. Je nach allgemeinem Zustand kann man die Scheiben problemlos tauschen und sollte auch gleich den Rost behandeln, falls sich dieser nicht schon zu sehr festgefressen hat. Denn des Büssli’s Feind ist definitiv Korrosion, der man zu wenig Beachtung schenkt. Doch in den richtigen Händen hat so ein Oldtimer auf jeden Fall noch viele Abenteuer vor sich!

A classic is a crack in the double-glazed window. Depending on the overall verhicle’s condition, you can replace the window easily and should also pay some attention to rust at the same time. Because the enemy of any beloved Büssli is definitely corrosion. But in the right hands, such a oldtimer car definitely has many adventures ahead of it!
