My German name is Specht, which means woodpecker. In high school I was the best in arts. The teacher invited me often after school to prepare the arts-material for the lessons of the other classes for next day. In the age of 17 I won already the first price at a regional art exhibition, - a scholarship for studying arts at university. Already as a child my mother taught me, how to draw perspectiv
e and in later years, when I founded the company"Interroll" with my friend together I could use my arts education in all areas of the business. Although my basic was business administration I was able to read complex technical drawings and draw them in 3D – which at that time without 3D-CAT only a few engineers were able to do. During my career as industrialist I developed 28 patents, which were important for the success of the company. Then I went public at the Swiss Stock Exchange with "Interroll", a very successful company, which had grown from a 2 man start-up in a garage to a world leader in core products for logistics with 1200 (today 1500) employees in 20 (today 28) subsidiaries in many countries around the world. I stepped out as CEO of the international group in the year 2000 and became an artist. I had a vision, a painting style, which I called “Segment-Art”, easily recognizable. All my artwork is made in this unique style and it became my “brand” ,my “handwriting”. Also my technique in acrylics, which I use with a pallet knife, is quite outstanding and results in a brilliant play of colors. I am able to transform everything into an abstract but esthetic composition. Whether it’s landscape, villages, flowers or just a pure abstract painting or my latest version of “light-art”-paintings.
