Salone del Mobile and EuroCucina 2026 made one thing very clear: “tiny living” is no longer about compromise. It has evolved into a premium design category focused on flexibility, hidden functionality, and emotionally warm spaces.
The biggest shift? Compact kitchens are no longer simply smaller versions of traditional kitchens. They are becoming multi-functional living systems designed to adapt throughout the day. Kitchens now seamlessly transform from breakfast stations into workspaces and social hubs, while hidden technology and integrated appliances create cleaner, calmer interiors.
Another strong direction at EuroCucina 2026 was the move away from cold minimalism toward softer, warmer, and more emotional living environments. Tactile materials, curved lines, and natural tones bring comfort and character into compact spaces. AI is also beginning to play a meaningful role; not through flashy technology, but by simplifying everyday living with smarter space optimization and intuitive functionality.
The boundaries between kitchen, living, and working areas continue to disappear, creating hybrid environments where every square meter serves multiple purposes. At the same time, compact living is becoming increasingly luxurious, with premium materials, architectural detailing, and refined finishes now expected even within smaller footprints. Sustainability was equally present, driven by smarter, smaller, and more adaptable design solutions.
The broader takeaway: the future of micro-living is adaptive, emotionally intelligent, beautifully integrated, and designed to make small spaces feel better, not smaller.
More comfort, more pleasure, and more quality of life in less space; a philosophy that has defined Kitchoo since 1998.
