Du 4 au 6 Mai 2026, je serai à Annecy, dans l'atelier de notre collègue Thomas Garcin, pour un stage sur l'équilibrage et la conception de mécanique.

Les stagiaires travailleront sur un piano de concert Yamaha CF3S, dans le but d'équilibrer les marteaux, les touches, et revoir la conception de la mécanique.

Le stage commencera par une explication théorique avec l'utilisation d'outils d'analyse d'une mécanique. Nous évoquerons les différents cas les plus courants nécessitant l'optimisation d'une mécanique, et les solutions adaptées pour résoudre ces problèmes.

Les stagiaires auront ensuite la possibilité de déterminer les poids de marteaux idéaux, et de mettre les marteaux au poids. L'équilibrage de clavier suivra, en utilisant le KMD de Renner USA.

Nous pourrons montrer comment utiliser le nouvel outil FJV pour tailler les marteaux en trapèze (il sera disponible à la vente à prix réduit aux stagiaires).

Le nouveau tableur d'analyse et de conception de la mécanique sera également offert aux stagiaires.

Following our one-week training course with *David Stanwood* in Switzerland, I am sharing more pictures of this exceptional event.

Maybe some of you are wondering what the reasons were behind organizing this event. Since David first introduced the idea of PTD more than 35 years ago, he has personally benefited very little from the immense impact he has had on generations of technicians. This event was my way of saying thank you to him.

It is also an opportunity to begin a new collaborations. We are working on various projects, and that I hope will help move the world of piano forward.

This week has been a very special week for the piano world in Switzerland 🇨🇭

FJV Piano Design has organized and sponsored a one-week training session with David Stanwood, coming from the US 🇺🇸 to teach his method to piano technicians. The attendees worked on three concert grands from , , and provided by Matthias Maurer - Piano Workshop in Puidoux, Switzerland. 🇨🇭

Some of the greatest piano technicians were able to attend, including colleagues from and . They all came from all over the world : Hong Kong China 🇨🇳, USA 🇺🇸, Belgium 🇧🇪, Austria 🇦🇹, Hungary 🇭🇺, France 🇫🇷, Switzerland 🇨🇭...
Many more brilliant technicians applied to the course and were unable to join, so I would like to apologize we couldn't have them with us this time.

It was a thrill to have Sven and Kathleen Taffijn from - official reseller of Stanwood Precision Touch Design International - with us. We appreciated having great tools from on sale during the class.

We are now thinking about the next steps. The first one will be our new tools by FJV Piano Design! Follow us to stay tuned!
