WE ARE BACK WITH A NEW SERIES OF EVENTS:

AMA+ begins its new Popup showings program, a series of events where artists from all creative disciplines are invited to connect and gather around the idea of ​​the dream and/or nightmare that means to be on the other side of a place.

We inaugurate this cycle with the presentation of the Syrian film director Yazan Rabee (1995). A young director who has already conquered spaces such as the Official selection Berlinale Shorts Competition 2023, and the Official selection Netherlands Film Festival 2022. Currently, he is producing his new project in The Netherlands, where he has worked and lived since 2016.

The short films 'BEYOND THE SUN' and 'BACK' present a portrait that delves into the emotions and stories of its protagonists, who meet, connect, and define the audiovisual portrait that Yazan Rabee proposes to us from his direction.

Yazan Rabee is a director who is committed to making these stories of Sirians, told from an emotional and psychological perspective, universal.

Nos complace invitarlos a la inauguración de la primera exposición del Mental Border Control en Cúcuta.

HOY, a partir de las 18h. en el Museo de la Memoria Cucuta tendremos un evento en el que además estaremos presentando el resultado del taller que desde hace seis semanas venimos desarrollando con los estudiantes de las universidades UNIMINUTO, Universidad Francisco De Paula Santander y IPS Unipamplona.

Esta exposición reúne una serie de dibujos, videos, fotografías y entrevistas que registran las historias y los protagonistas de las diferentes fronteras mentales que hemos detectado a través de esta investigación artística.

Este proyecto se desarrolla en el contexto del programa Juntos Aparte y BIENALSUR.

Esperamos contar con su presencia.

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of the first exhibition of the Mental Border Control in Cúcuta.

TODAY, starting at 6pm. at The Cucuta Memory Museum we will have an event in which we will also be presenting the result of the workshop that we have been developing for six weeks with the students of the UNIMINUTO, Francisco De Paula Santander and IPS Unipamplona universities.

This exhibition brings together a series of drawings, videos, photographs and interviews that reveal the stories and the protagonists of the different mental borders that we have detected through this artistic research.

This project is developed in the context of the program Juntos Aparte and BIENALSUR.

MENTAL BORDER CONTROL IS BACK! (English below)

Con una primera sesión tutorial para estudiantes y profesores, el pasado viernes empezó el proceso de trabajo 2019 de Mental Border Control.

Este proyecto de investigación participativa se desarrolla desde el 2017 en Cúcuta, Colombia, con el objetivo de detectar y visualizar las fronteras mentales que emergen en la ciudad, para generar estrategias que potencien desarrollo integral, vivencia social y dinámica territorial en las comunidades afectadas por estos límites invisibles.

A cargo de Melle Smets y Natalia Castillo en el marco de Juntos Aparte y en alianza con las universidades UNIMINUTO, UFPS Cúcuta y Unipamplona

With a first tutorial session for students and professors, last friday the 2019 Mental Border Control work process began.

This action research project has been developed since 2017 in Cúcuta, Colombia, with the objective of detecting and visualizing the mental borders that emerge in the city, to generate strategies that promote integral development, social experience and territorial dynamics in the communities affected by these invisible boundaries.

Dear friends,

We are happy to announce the first presentation of the Mental Border Control in Europe.
In the context of Pakhuis de Zwijger and its 'PAPA Weldwerk' (PAPA fieldwork) program, Melle Smets will be talking about the parallel world, mental bordes and research based art. He will share our experience during the last year in Cúcuta, and the stories we have met since then.
Also, by sharing the questions we are working on, with the idea to set a bridge that facilitates a dialogue from diferent context around the urgent issue of the current situation right at the border between Colombia and Venezuela.

En El contexto de Pakhuis de Zwijgery su programa 'PAPA Weldwerk' (PAPA trabajo de campo), Melle Smets hablar'a sobre el mundo paralelo, fronteras mentales y el arte basado en la ingvestigación.
Compartirá la que fue nuestra experiencia durante el año pasado en Cúcuta y las historias que hemos conocido desde entonces.
También , compartiremos las preguntas en las que trabajamos actualmente con el objetivo de crear un puente que facilite un diálogo desde diferentes contextos en torno al tema urgente de la situación actual en la frontera entre Colombia y Venezuela.
