Hablemos de la "Reina de la Noche" Brugmansia suaveolens. Belleza exótica, que crece bien en Costa Rica, está extinta en su hábitat natural y todavía se encuentra comúnmente en jardines residenciales.
Las trompetas de ángel son extremadamente tóxicas para los humanos. Todas las partes de estas plantas contienen un conjunto de alcaloides dañinos, aunque estos están más concentrados en las hojas y semillas. La ingestión de estas partes de la planta, incluso en pequeñas cantidades, puede provocar enfermedades muy graves.
La ingestión de esta planta provocará alucinaciones, aumento de la temperatura corporal acompañado de disminución de la producción de sudor y saliva (seco y caliente), taquicardia y dificultad para respirar, ceguera temporal y ha causado muertes.
Esta planta se considera altamente tóxica. Si la tiene en su casa y tiene hijos o animales es recomendable eliminarla o que no sea accesible. El olor vespertino del árbol junto a la ventana de un bebé es suficiente para hacerlo sentir los efectos alucinógenos.

Ingestion of this plant will cause hallucinations (mad), spiking body temperature accompanied by decreased sweat and saliva production (dry and hot), tachycardia and difficulty breathing (red), temporary blindness (blind) and has caused fatalities.
This plant is considered highly toxic. If you have it in your house and have kids you are better off removing it. The evening scent of the tree next to a babies window is enough to send him tripping.
