during the 42nd Annual CAARI Archaeological Workshop in Nicosia Bleda presented the results of 10 years at Palloures. As the first speaker of the day he showed how our research has transformed the knowledge of exchange networks within and outside Cyprus during the Chalcolithic, and what ongoing analysis of burnt buildings and coprolites will tell us about the people of Palloures.

Palloures Groundstone! 🪨

In the past year we have shared a few of the many artefacts found at Palloures. As this series draws to an end we would like to share one of the projects MASSIVE finds:

This large stone mortar installation was discovered inside one of the site's impressive buildings, a circular structure measuring 14 meters in diameter with walls nearly 1 meter thick! (📸 Photo by Ian J. Cohn)
