🏢 An ordinary office building in Milan, Italy. No visible clue. Nothing that would tell you what started here 15 years ago. This is where the story of meteocontrol Italy and EU South began.
Recently, our Italian colleagues returned to the former office, took a few photos and looked back at the first chapter of the local presence.

Since then, renewable energy has changed and so have we. Projects have become larger, requirements more complex, and the team has grown significantly.

🐝World Bee Day is here.

From time to time, a small beehive appears in front of our HQ. Behind it is our colleague Jens Wening, Senior Vice President Supply Chain & Internal Engineering, and outside of work also a passionate beekeeper and beekeeping expert.

Talking to Jens about bees quickly turns into a conversation about teamwork. He puts it very clearly:
“In a group, clear and concise communication also helps in making efficient decisions – even when the teams are large.”

A bee colony works with direction, clear roles and constant communication.
People are not bees, of course. We need coffee, birthday cakes and the occasional “Can you quickly have a look at this?”

But a few principles translate surprisingly well:
clear communication, trust, adaptability and a common direction.

Bei uns hieß es letzte Woche wieder: Türen öffnen, Einblicke geben und zeigen, was hinter meteocontrol steckt 🌍⚡

Bei Augsburg Open konnten Besucher:innen einen Blick hinter die Kulissen werfen, und mit Kolleg:innen aus verschiedenen Bereichen sprechen.
Viele Gespräche und Nachfragen haben gezeigt, wie groß das Interesse an erneuerbaren Energien, Klimaschutz und konkreten technischen Lösungen ist. Besonders schön war zu sehen, wie schnell aus allgemeinen Fragen echte Gespräche wurden: über Photovoltaik, Daten, Monitoring, Batteriespeicher und darüber, wie Arbeiten an der Energiewende bei meteocontrol aussieht.

🤗 Danke an alle, die vorbeigeschaut haben. Und ein großes Dankeschön an Lea, Leonie, Philippe, Tobias, Johannes und alle Kolleg:innen, die Augsburg Open bei meteocontrol möglich gemacht haben.

QUICK BREAK, FAST RALLY, CLEAR HEAD.

A few quick points, a bit of laughter, then back to the next task.
That rhythm is familiar in everyday office life here at meteocontrol, especially on days when a short reset makes all the difference.

Table tennis has become one of those small rituals that people genuinely enjoy. Sometimes it is a spontaneous match between meetings, sometimes a quick game with colleagues from another team. (Of cause, foosball still holds its ground too 😉)

What makes moments like this worth sharing? The team dynamic behind them! People from different roles cross paths, chat for a few minutes and head back to work with fresh energy. It is a small part of the day, but a real one.

🏓 World Table Tennis Day seemed like the right moment to share that side of office life too.

GIVING ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITIES💻

Over 30 retired laptops from our IT department have found a new home: at LeTRa – the Le***an Counseling Center of LesCommunity e. V. in Munich. There, the devices support le***an, q***r, trans, and intersex refugees who are currently pursuing vocational training or learning German – and who cannot afford their own laptop.

It quickly became clear to us: passing on working technology can make a real difference.

Digital inclusion is a prerequisite for education, independence, and opportunities. If we can help facilitate people’s access to knowledge and development, this aligns with our understanding of responsibility – and our commitment to creating a positive impact beyond our core business.

Thank you Ruben Hartmann (Junior Customer Success Manager from our Berlin branch) who brought LeTRa to our attention through his connections at the counseling center and Andreas Lorenz who organized the handover.

Organized and accompanied by our People team, the New Starter Breakfast brought together new colleagues from different areas of the business to share their first impressions and experiences at

Across different teams and roles, similar themes came up repeatedly. People value being involved early, being able to ask questions openly, and knowing they have support when challenges become more complex.

One colleague shared, for example, that they were involved in a real client situation very early on and had the support of both team and manager throughout. That says a lot about how people grow into their role here: with trust from the beginning and support along the way.

Formats like this matter because they make these experiences visible. They give space for honest exchange and a better understanding of what helps new colleagues truly arrive.
