Krasna Vukasovic✨

Visual Artist with mention in Painting from the University of Chile, 2018. She received complementary formation in masterclasses with Natalia Babarovic and did a student exchange in the Laurea Magistral program at the University di Bologna (2016 - 2017). She has been working as a university assistant since 2018, at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism U. de Chile and at the Universidad Diego Portales. She is part of the artistic collective La Farmacéutica Nacional. She currently lives in Leipzig, Germany.

Welcome to RADICART.

Through a circle of artists we study the relation between the works of art and its influence on human consciousness. The common ingredient that Radicart identifies, is the radical confrontation and a "disturbance" of the common, finite observation of the image and the role of the artist in society. Let us reflect on how art and its applications can and do affect the human, individually and collectively.

Today Aris Ktasilakis is interviewed

Aris Katsilakis was born in 1974 in Cluj, Romania. He began his studies at the School of Fine Arts of Tinos where he studied marble sculpture. In 2001 he continued his studies
at the Athens School of Fine Arts as a scholarship holder. He studied at the A' Sculpture workshop with the sculptor Thodoros Papagiannis as his professor, and fell in love with photography in Manolis Babousis studio. In 2007, he finds himself in Florina where he teaches sculpture until 2011. From 2011 to 2015 he teaches plastic and ceramics at the Technical University of Serres, as a Laboratory Associate of the Department of Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts and Design. In November 2017 he is elected Assistant Professor of Sculpture, at the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His background includes numerous solo and group exhibitions and his works can be found in private collections, in Greece and abroad, as well as in public spaces.

“Column Draft, old”

Location: marble workshops of Charilaou aera

Work elements: styrofoam, dust, levitation, echo

His goal is the viewers to look within these spaces and
feel familiar in environments that would otherwise repel them.
To achieve this, I approach and study such places, their past and history,
the reasons why they have been rejected and the materials that
live in or around them. Then he uses these materials as a visual vocabulary,
in ways that are not related to their functional purpose, but to
the concepts they carry. He reconstructs them in space, creating installations
with video and audio action, undoing or lifting elements that he
has selected from the above observations.
The sites themselves carry the story on which he steps on to make his
personal comment.

“Common place of his body of work is the representation of the atmosphere
that hovers above abandoned and isolated spaces in the
urban and suburban landscape. These are abandoned factories, illegal
landfills, closed sidewalks and similar structures in which the human
presence has left its mark, but its existence serves no longer a productive purpose.”
