We are excited to announce the final line-up of our Batch #15!

For the next 20 weeks, we will foster these eight novel companies with technologies ranging from visual inspection tools for manufacturing defect detection, to tailor-made solutions for the friction lining industry, and to ground-breaking molding processes to revolutionize fashion industry.

So, what will happen in the upcoming months? The startups will:

💪 Receive individual training, coaching, and mentoring in all the key topics in the startup game.

🤝 Conduct a pilot project with one of the TechFounders’ corporate partners: CLAAS, DATEV, HP Tech Ventures, Knorr-Bremse and Miele.

👥 Get to know the TechFounders & UnternehmerTUM GmbH network including international investors, tech and industry experts, and successful serial entrepreneurs.

We are proud to announce TechFounders Batch #5 alumni startup Holo-Light has received €5.3million in a funding round led by iEnBW New Ventures.

Building upon a successful series A financing of €4 million in December 2019, the “Netflix for Virtual and Augmented Reality” will use the funding score to open new markets and expand its immersive streaming platform XRnow.

The Ismaning and Innsbruck-based startup’s Interactive Streaming for Augmented Reality platform breaks the performance barriers of mobile XR devices, giving access to the power of external servers and the cloud. The XR experiences offered by Holo-Light’s technology are applicable to the automotive, mechanical engineering and plant engineering industries.

Their filtration technology enables businesses to capture and harvest microplastics from manufacturing processes, supply chains and products, returning the material to the circular economy. Meanwhile, for households, the “Gulp” filter offers a plastic-free washing solution. Matter is currently working on a pilot project with our corporate partner Miele.

The startup’s AI-powered Battery Management System (BMS) provides users with accurate and reliable data on the battery state of the vehicle, and their novel Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) aims to bring more natural feeling for drivers. The ongoing COP26 summit brings parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

On Thursday, November 4 at 2pm (GMT), our Managing Partner, Sylvia Stojilkovic, will participate in a panel discussion at Global Innovation Hub as part of COP26 - UN Climate Change Conference about “Incubators in a 21st century innovation ecosystem delivering 1.5 °C solutions”. Congratulations to our alumni startup Sternum for raising an impressive amount of $27M in Series B funding! The Israeli cybersecurity startup announced the closing of its funding round last month, bringing the company’s total amount of raised funds to $37 million.

🛡 The cybersecurity market is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in the information economy: a forecast by International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates that there will be 41.6 billion IoT devices in 2025. Being able to identify anomalies in the behavior of a device in real-time, and even without an internet connection, distinguishes Sternum’s software from any other solution offered in the market today.

Sternum was part of TechFounders Batch #13 with Knorr-Bremse as their corporate partner.

A majority stake in our alumni startup from Aachen was recently acquired by an international energy company E.ON. Through the acquisition, E.ON is continuing to drive forwards the digitalization of the energy world while the Aachen-based startup can now better support their customers on their way to a and energy future.
