New Kind of University in the Heart of the Olympic Park

UCL East Marshgate is at the heart of University College London’s new campus in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Designed by , the eight-storey building brings together research, teaching and public spaces across approximately 35,000 m².

A defining feature is the exposed concrete of the multi-storey Fluid Zone. For these surfaces, the architects developed a bespoke board-marked texture using timber boards of different widths and depths.

To bring this bespoke design to life, RECKLI created custom elastic formliners from the original timber masters, resulting in a natural and varied board-marked concrete finish.

The result has gained significant recognition: UCL East Marshgate was named RIBA London Building of the Year 2026 and received a RIBA National Award 2026.
A great example of how a bespoke idea can become a distinctive architectural identity in concrete.

✨ When concrete becomes part of the brand experience

In the Fashion Avenue of Dubai Mall, THE KAPE combines contemporary fashion with expressive architecture.

For the boutique designed by SUPERFUTUREDESIGN*, white precast concrete elements frame the storefront and create a striking contrast to the minimalist interior. The distinctive surface was created using our Pennsilva formliner.

Arranged diagonally, its pronounced ribbed structure gives the concrete depth and creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow that changes with every viewing angle.

A great example of how architectural concrete can become a defining element in high-end retail design.

🏫 Where Architecture Meets Growth

In Shanghai's growing Zhenru Urban Sub-Center, this new school rises like layers of clouds above the city. It was designed by Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. under the vision "Urban Green Carpet, Cloud Campus."

The expressive terracotta-red façade was made of GRC shaped with our RECKLI 2/701 Liberty formliner. Its curtain-like waves give the concrete a dynamic, lightweight look, symbolising the students' upward journey.

To protect this texture for the long term, the façade was treated with RECKLI OS HO: colourless, breathable, and built to withstand Shanghai's humid climate.

A campus that demonstrates how sustainable construction can succeed 🌱

The Corvinus Gellért Campus in Budapest is a remarkable example of how sustainability and outstanding architecture can go hand in hand. As one of Hungary's most sustainable university campuses, it has achieved LEED Gold certification, setting a benchmark for energy-efficient and resource-conscious construction.

🌊 Coastal protection with added value

The Mumbles Coastal Protection Project in Swansea, Wales, demonstrates how modern coastal infrastructure can combine protection, design and ecological value.

The sea wall was raised to provide enhanced protection against waves, storm surges and overtopping, helping to safeguard the promenade for years to come.

In the lower section, which is regularly exposed to the tides, the Kerry formliner creates textured concrete surfaces with recesses and natural reliefs that provide grip, shade and sheltered areas for marine life, transforming the sea wall into a potential habitat.

Along the top of the approximately 1.2 km promenade, the Via Aurelia formliner creates a calm and continuous architectural finish, giving the elevated sea wall a distinctive appearance while complementing the surrounding coastal landscape.

The result is a project that combines resilient coastal protection, architectural design and ecological value in a single structure.

🏨 A Hotel Shaped by Art, Music and Culture.

Located in Hongdae, one of Seoul's most vibrant cultural districts, RYSE Hotel embraces the spirit of its surroundings. Home to galleries, live music venues, independent fashion, street art and the renowned Hongik University, the neighborhood has inspired a hotel that is deeply connected to the local creative scene.

Instead of following a conventional hotel layout, the lobby, restaurants, lounges and event spaces are spread across the first five floors. Designed by SCAAA, this concept creates a seamless transition between the hotel and the surrounding urban environment. For the interior, the London-based studio Michaelis Boyd combined exposed concrete, natural stone, timber, brass and coloured resin flooring into a distinctive material palette.

Step inside and a textured concrete wall immediately catches your eye. Realised by IVANKA with the Cheyenne formliner, it recreates the appearance of natural rock and gives the entrance area a strong architectural identity, setting the tone for the entire hotel.

All About the Lens 👓

The Lens Lab of in Linz makes its purpose visible from the outside: its striking white concrete façade takes inspiration from the shape of a spectacle lens.

Designed by X ARCHITEKTEN, the building features two contrasting façades. Around 1,300 conical openings form a perforated concrete screen on one side, while large circular windows with convex glazing define the other.

To realise the individual geometries with precision, bespoke RECKLI Unique formliners were used in the production of the 81 large-format precast concrete panels. The result is a façade that appears almost seamless and transforms the new production and storage facility into a three-dimensional expression of the Silhouette brand.

What does it mean for a century-old clan association to stay relevant in a modern city?

The Dabu Hakka Building in Singapore answers with "Ke Ju" — coming together. Designed by .architects and .co, the building reinterprets the traditional Hakka Tulou as a vertical village, with "communal streets" replacing corridors and terraced gardens replacing walls.

Look closely, and you'll find our fingerprint: roughly 130 m² of RECKLI Auvergne and Via Appia formliners were used to continue the façade’s textile-inspired design language.
