Barges

To transport oversized goods safely and seamlessly, Merkur Project often uses the European inland waterways. As part of the intermodal transport chain, the items are transported to the nearest port, then loaded onto barges destined for a port near our destination.

This makes heavy transports considerably easier, especially for items of very large size. Barges require less documentation and sometimes they are the only viable option, as roads are not usable because of bridges, trees, buildings or power lines.

Boxes for Vietnam

Merkur Project organised the export of 6 boxes with machinery to Vietnam. They weighed between 16,5 and 27 tons and varied in sizes, reaching up to 13m in length and 4m in height. The cargo originated in Poland and was shipped via Bremerhaven, Germany on board a RoRo vessel.

Baler for Dalian

Merkur Project planned and executed the export of a Krone baler from the production site in Poland to Dalian, China. The machine with the dimensions of 8m x 2,9m x 3,1m and a weight of 10 tons was loaded onto a flatrack and shipped directly from the port of Gdansk.

Export

Recently Merkur Project organised the export of 730 bundles of steel beams. The 3300 tons of cargo were loaded onto the ship via forklift and gantry crane. One of our employees was also on site to supervise the proceedings and make sure no damages occurred during loading.

LCL Container

Merkur Project offers Less-than-Container-Load transport. Different loads destined for the same destination can be combined in one container. This has a few advantages for the customer:
-lower cost for the customer
-better utilization of the container
-overall lower carbon footprint

This way even smaller items can be shipped for competitive rates and without a high impact on the environment.

Alles aus einer Hand!

September 2020:

21 Conveyor Belts mit einem Gesamtgewicht von 945.315 kg haben ihren Weg nach Chile gefunden.
Wir haben den Transport, das Survey, sowie die Verladung auf das Seeschiff organisiert.
Die Conveyor Belts wurden von Bad Blankenburg, knapp 460 km, nach Hamburg transportiert und von dort aus nach Chile in Südamerika verschifft.

🤓Wissenswert:
Förderbänder haben ihre Förder- und Transportaufgaben unter anderem im Bergbau und werden für die Beförderung über und unter Tage eingesetzt.
Sie gehören zu den umweltfreundlichen Transportsystemen, da nur ein geringer Energiebedarf entsteht.🌳

OUR WORK - REAL PASSION

2020:

Despite the concerns that the corona virus is currently spreading in Europe, especially in Italy, Merkur Project organizes weekly transports from Germany to several places in Italy.

Each of the cable drums had a diameter of 390 cm and a weight of approx. 20 tons.
