Cortex Technology has specialized in a number of unique techniques developed for skin applications, which has materialized in four product families:

DermaScan C: High resolution ultrasound scanners for skin applications. DermaLab Series: A range of instruments targeting skin research labs as well as aesthetic clinics. DSM II ColorMeter: Instruments for measuring skin color, erythema and melanin. CryoPro: A complete range of liquid nitrogen based cryosurgical units and accessories. As a leading manufacturer of such devices we are dedicated to safety and high product quality. Accordingly, all products are manufactured and tested in accordance with current quality and safety standards. In 2007, we were ISO 13485 certified for the production of cryosurgical instrumentation, and our products are
CE-marked and FDA 510(k) approved as appropriate. Cortex Technology is based in modern facilities in Hadsund, Denmark, which are located in an area surrounded by highly skilled sub-contractors thus facilitating the production of specialized and customized parts in close cooperation with our suppliers. Also located here is the central sales and marketing department, which controls a German sales office and distributor activities in 25 countries

“I have used the Colorimeter DSM 4 in my daily clinical work for more than a year. I have found the device to be both reliable and user friendly. Its built in calibration function allows for quick and straightforward calibration, ensuring accurate and consistent measurements. I primarily use the DSM 4 Colorimeter to obtain objective measurements of background skin pigmentation as part of my clinical assessment.

The objective measurements provide an additional source of information when assessing patients prior to procedures involving visible light and laser technologies. The Colorimeter DSM 4 provides objective measurements of erythema and melanin levels, enabling consistent assessment and documentation of skin characteristics before and after treatment. In my experience, these objective measurements complement my clinical evaluation and provide documentation over time.”

Why measure sebum when you can already see that the skin is oily? 🔬
Because a visual assessment only shows what is visible on the surface. It does not reveal the actual sebum level or make it possible to compare changes objectively.
