Yesterday, we had the pleasure of filling the beautiful interior of NUVOLE with Drying Oak – unfolding its story and layers alongside Louise and Marlene, who founded and run this thoughtfully curated space in the heart of Copenhagen.
Drying Oak carries a heartfelt story about a material we are very fascinated by – wood.
Why are we so drawn to the smell of wood?
Throughout history, we have built shelters from wood, creating spaces of warmth and protection, and perhaps this deep-rooted relationship with the material is why its smell can instinctively transport us to a place of calm and familiarity.
Drying Oak explores this fascination – our appreciation of wood as a material, and our longing to keep it close.
Warm, woody and spicy in character, the fragrance reveals a subtle contrast – a cooler note, like the air from an exterior landscape finding its way into a sheltered interior. A delicate balance between warmth and coolness, revealing complexity in its subtleties.
Originally created as a room fragrance, Drying Oak now also exists as an Eau de Parfum – allowing its atmosphere to move from the spaces we inhabit to the intimacy of our skin.
