Back to where it all started. Not by starting over, but by working with what’s already there.

Through a series of careful, punctual interventions, Sundbyhallerne is being brought closer to its original character by restoring its spatial and material atmosphere, while preserving valuable traces from later renovations, including the 1970s.
With the ex*****on phase now underway, it’s exciting to see these first interventions slowly come together

We’re proud to share that we’ve won the competition for the renovation of Sundbyhallerne, a true Copenhagen sports landmark and the city’s second oldest sports hall.

To celebrate, we’re looking back before moving forward. This short film from the early 20th century captures the spirit and history of the building.

Place that has shaped generations of movement, community, and everyday life.

We’re excited to carry that legacy into the next chapter, preserving its identity while preparing it for the future.

“Often, it’s more expensive to throw away than to think twice.”

Is the title of an article we wrote at the end of last year. And now we finally have the printed copy in our hands.

In Børsen, we argue that reuse is not a detour in architecture, but a direct path to better design, lower costs, and stronger identity.

Materials with history carry value you can’t buy new, and circular strategies just demand more architectural thinking than a standard process.

Repetition with room to adapt

This is Sømmes Vænge, just one piece of a larger housing system we’ve developed for public housing organisation BOSJ that is being used in locations all around Denmark.

The system is based on a wooden structure and designed to be repeated, scaled, and adapted. While the architecture is standardized, the small building units allow each housing area to respond to its specific context and create a unique environment.

Working with a system like this means every project becomes a learning step helping us refine every aspect of the design and make future applications even better.

“Oops!... We Used It Again”. Because circular design, same as Y2K pop never gets old.

We’re excited to share new photos from Kulturkajen Assens a chance to revisit a project we completed some time ago, now resurfacing as it will be featured in an upcoming article in Børsen.

This transformation of the former town hall into a library, cultural house, and community hub brings two of our favorite themes together: reuse and community driven designe.

Community is shaped through key spatial elements. The multi-level indoor staircase for reading, resting, climbing, and play, and the lighthouse-inspired outdoor structure that acts both as a gathering point and a playful element for children, while offering elevated views during local events.

Reuse is woven throughout: timber salvaged from the harbor redevelopment was used to build these central structures, and concrete from the original facade was recycled into tiles that now pave the atrium and the square in front of the building. Giving old materials a new life.
