SUNBY Aps

SUNBY Aps Reuse of high-value waste materials through industrial design. In this regard, SUNBY reuse rechnology focuses on two areas, namely Materials and Research.

SUNBY reuse technology, however, not only focuses on products distirbution, as it also allocates significant resources to its research activities: it develops new recycling solutions for customers, giving back value to waste and creating unique materials. Growing material scarcity and fossil energy finiteness have been of a significant concern among the scientific community. It highlights an expan

sive anthropological development based on the ungrounded assumption of cheap and infinite resources, where the limited quantity of natural capital does not constitute a parameter in today's economic development. However, recent oil crises and materials’ price fluctuations have given us opposite market signals. As far as finite resources are concerned (therefore excluding renewable energies from the discussion), there is urging need to process more wisely, and maintain industrial quality and functionality while requiring less inputs, or increasing the use of recycled inputs - thereby operating an industrial system as closed as possible. Materials focuses on conceiving solutions-based packages around up-cycled materials from high-value industrial waste. Two mature solutions compose our Materials catalogue: PP-1700 and PT-200, made from reused pre-impregnated fiberglass-reinforced epoxy and recycled rigid polyurethane foam, respectively. While Materials deals with products, services and sales, Research provides with solutions to manufacturers facing waste overflow and treatment issues. The Research department develops efforts in connecting high-value waste issues with specific materials demand to develop greener, upgraded products fulfilling both ends’ needs. Currently, several on-going projects ranging from the reuse of wind turbine blades to the recycling of end-of-life PVC are being undertaken. Concretized solutions feeds up our Materials catalogue. We are based in Nørresundby in northern Denmark, where our offices, warehouse and production are located.

SUNBY started the limited production of its low carbon footprint coffee table.

It combines the robustness of fiber-reinforced materials with a smart reuse of industrial high-value material waste.

Soon available in boutiques and online.
