On October 29, 2013 in BSR STARS meeting in Helsinki Carsten Møller, Managing Director at Danish Water Services, have been appointed to be the Danish member of the Steering Committee. The vision of the clean water project is to create a vital Baltic Sea Region Clean Water Cluster, a cooperation platform of different clusters for interaction of the triple helix sectors in the Region. The purpose of this platform is to develop water protection with new and innovative technologies, products and services.

Middelfart Spildevand has initiated a development project with the aim of mapping the energy consumption at Middelfart wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) by developing and implementing a standardized baseline model. The project is funded by VTU-fonden and is carried out in a partnership between Middelfart Spildevand, EnviDan A/S, Danish Water Services, Grontmij and DHI.

On Friday, October 4, 2013, Carsten Møller, Managing Director of Danish Water Services on behalf of Lean Energy Cluster participated in a Kick-Off Meeting for the European Strategic Cluster Partnership: Energy in Water project. The meeting took place in Peterborough, UK. Partners discussed questions concerning ESCP , the project´s focus areas, aims, objectives, planned activities and expected results.

Danish Water Services together with 10 Danish water companies Envidan International A/S (www.envidanwater.dk), Grundfos A/S (www.grundfos.com), JMS Management (www.jmsmanagement.dk), Nordhavn (www.nordhavn.dk), AVK International A/S (www.avkventiler.dk), Danish Energy Solutions (www.energysolutions.dk), Lean Energy Cluster (www.leanenergy.dk), Siemens (www.siemens.com), VCS Denmark (www.vcsdenmark.com) and Grontmij (www.grontmij.dk) participated in Myanmar - Danish Water days 2013, which took a place from 27-28 August in Myanmar.

This week Danish Water Services and Envidan A/S (www.envidan.dk) together with the Danish Embassy discussed the way forward with the Non Revenue Water project with Hanoi Water Company in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The agreement between EnviDan A/S, Danish Water Services and the City of Hanoi was concluded in January 2013 and includes reducing water wastage from 35 percent to 20 percent already the first year.
