I will be offering my heirloom seedlings this Saturday at the Solano Bistro Feria, also showcasing my special salsa, which focuses on health rather than heat. The ingredients: organic heirloom tomatoes (pomodoro type), white onion, sweet red pepper, garlic, lime juice (fresh), vinegar (this batch Ponti Pinot Grigio), panela (organic unprocessed cane sugar), Creole seasoning blend (Tony Chachere's), salt (always a rare natural salt; this batch uses "Sal en Grano Ahumada" from Cusco, Peru. We are beginning a new season, selling seedlings of several types of organic heirloom tomatoes, as well as two types of heirloom organic lettuces. With heirloom products you simply save seeds from your plants (or fruit in the case of tomatoes), germinate, and begin new plants. Our varieties have been grown for 10+ years here in Cuenca, and will do well in a sunny window or on your deck or terrace, or in your garden, should you have one. Our seedlings will be ready as of May 17-18, and we deliver to Cuenca. Initial prices for tomato seedlings $3/each, 2 for $5; our price for lettuce seedlings are $1.50/each or 5 for $5. Our tomato varieties include:
Cherokee Purple (a large plant producing fruit for 3+ months)
Cherokee Green (a "hybrid" of Purple) (fruit is a great all-purpose tomato)
Nebraska Wedding (a small plant (1 meter) with medium to large bright yellow tomatoes)...great for Caprese Salads
Italian Pomodoro style "Flora Dade"; plant is determinate, less than 1 meter tall) fruit is ideal for salsa and sauces

we have two types of lettuces, a red leaf type originally from France; very hardy and prolific, as is our curly leaf lettuce, originating in Italy; check photos
