Where decisions are made.

The Board Member Office at the Majid Al Futtaim head office, Al Hamra Tower, Kuwait.

One room, two zones: a focused work area and a separate lounge corner for private meetings. Polished marble underfoot, clean white walls that let the artwork lead, and glass that keeps the space connected to the floor without giving up privacy.

Quiet, warm, and built for the people who set the direction.

Construction & Fit-out by EDGE Architects.

Proud to have delivered the Majid Al Futtaim head office in Al Hamra Tower, Kuwait.

17 floors up in Al Hamra Tower, a new head office has taken shape.
One of the region’s most recognised names. One reception that had to get it right.
The full story drops this week.
Thank you for your trust.

Version 01. Version 02. Final version.

For the Majid Al Futtaim head office in Al Hamra Tower, the reception went through two design directions before the final one was chosen.

What made it to site: a clean white wall for the logo, one solid oak counter, and floor-to-ceiling mirrors that open up the space.

Our job was to build it exactly right: construction and fit-out across 220 sqm, every joint, finish and line executed on site.

Swipe to see how it went from render to reality.

600 sqm. One store. Every detail built to be seen.

The Approved Market in Sanabel Tower, Kuwait, is a health-food hypermarket designed to feel warm, open and easy to move through.

Swipe through the space:
β†’ An exposed ceiling of steel frames and pendant lights
β†’ Oak joinery, made to measure, from gondolas to the coffee corner
β†’ Colour-blocked walls and etched glass
β†’ A floor that guides you down every aisle

Over the next posts, we’ll take it apart, layer by layer.

Nobody reads a floor. Everyone follows one.

At The Approved Market , wood strips frame every porcelain field and run exactly in line with the shelving. Customers move through the aisles without a single arrow telling them where to go.

It looks effortless. It isn’t.
For the strips to meet the shelving, aisle after aisle, the floor and the joinery have to be set out on the same lines, down to the millimetre.

That’s the kind of detail you only get when one team builds the whole space.

Most people walk into a supermarket and look at the shelves.
We look up.

At The Approved Market, the ceiling was left open by design. No gypsum, no access panels, nothing to hide behind.

That means every layer above your head had to be built to be seen:

β†’ Ducts, diffusers and fire lines routed in clean, straight runs
β†’ A suspended black steel grid carrying the track lighting
β†’ Yellow steel frames with a spotlight fixed at every node
β†’ Dozens of pendants, all hung at the same drop

An exposed ceiling forgives nothing. If one line is off, everyone sees it.

That's the difference between finishing a space and building it right.

Black steel. White marble. Warm timber. Terrazzo. Hand-finished plaster.
Five materials, five different trades, one finished space.

At KUMAR, nothing is decorative by accident. The welded steel screens filter the light, the stone defines each zone, and even the ductwork was finished in black and made part of the design.

Specifying materials is easy. Building them together is the work.

Designing an Indian dining space inside a modern mall in Kuwait isn't just about aesthetics β€” it's about translating identity into architecture.

Every material, every lighting choice, every spatial decision at KUMAR had to speak two languages at once: contemporary commercial design and the warmth of Indian culinary culture.

This is what we were asked to solve. This is what we built.

Six materials. One identity.

Blackened steel. Veined black marble. White marble. Terrazzo and oak. Cognac leather. Warm timber.

At KUMAR, none of them is there to decorate. Each one was chosen to work with the others, then built exactly as drawn: design, construction and fit-out under one team.

The details behind each material are in the next post.
