🌍✨ The Countdown Begins! Join the Egypt Green Building Council at the 2nd Net Zero Conference! ✨🌍

Get ready for two days of groundbreaking discussions and collaborations! The 2nd Net Zero Conference, implemented by Egypt Green Building Council, will take place on December 9th and 10th at Nile University.

This event is under the auspices of Egypt’s Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, and is organized jointly with USAID Business Egypt, a five- year project funded by USAID and implemented by DAI in partnership with the American University in Cairo School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation AUC Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Nile University. This event will bring together leaders from government, industry, academia, and civil society to drive the transition to a low-carbon in the built environment.

Most nation’s climate plans (NDCs – Nationally Determined Contributions) and policies are overlooking
something extremely big: the mitigation and adaptation potential of the built environment. That’s why the
World Green Building Council is co-developing an NDC Scorecard for Sustainable Buildings to support and
encourage every country to in their NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution)
submissions, due next year.
The Scorecard tool will allow all policymakers, Green Building Councils and others to assess and compare
their countries’ NDCs, and reveal where further action is necessary to increase the ambition and effectiveness
of their NDCs and national policies so they are putting the sector on a trajectory for 1.5ºC.
The tool is being co-developed by the Green Building Council and five Green Building Councils
(GBCs) – Building Council Brasil Colombiano de Construcción Sostenible (CCCS) ,
Green Building Council (Egypt GBC) Building Council Nigeria and Green Building Council –
alongside local stakeholders including governments, to bolster local action that delivers on global priorities.
As we begin , it is absolutely critical that the next batch of accelerates the transition
and closes the gap to 1.5°C to deliver on the goals of the . This can be achieved by not
overlooking the role of buildings.
