A kitchen overhaul recently completed for Goran & Gunilla in Los Altos
everything was stripped out, the wall retiled a suspended ceiling with L.E.D. Downlights, a fabulous modern kitchen with a beautiful stone worktop and more L.E.D under cupboard lighting

Recently completed raised terrace in Pinar de Campoverde
I turned a useless dated space into a modern smart dining sunbathing area.

It was time to do something with my front wall at home over the summer break.
This is what I came up with.
I hacked off the old monocappa coating back to bare brick, filled in the gate entrance, then applied a tanking solution to the walls 1m high from the ground to prevent rising damp. Tiled the bottom of the wall with my favourite porcelain tile. Fitted an engineered stone capping with drip channels on either side. finally, I applied 1 coat of fondo with polypropylene mesh fibre pushed in and a top coat of monocappa lavabado

I have just finished the Guest apartment Kitchen for Ewan & Anne in Playa Flamenca.
I fitted a suspended ceiling with downlights, removed the old tiling and replaced with modern matt white tiles, white high gloss doors with black integrated handles, A Silestone worktop in Arden blue with a fluted drainer and under bowl sink.
Lastly black wall sockets and matching black kitchen tap

The second project for Donna in Dream Hills 2 was something out of the ordinary, it's been about 20 yrs since I last did anything similar, and I really enjoyed this.
Donna wanted me to build a bar on the solarium as a surprise and anniversary gift for Kevin, so all of this was undertaken on the quit.
I also fitted some power for lighting, a couple of sockets and a fridge for all the essential cold beer and ice cubes. Now they have arrived, Kevin is busy making it his own, next mission will be som bar stools.

I recently finished a couple of interesting projects for Donna & Kevin in Dream hills 2
The 1st was the construction of an insulated Aluminium day room on the solarium with Solar reflective glass patio doors.
Completed with a couple of power points and a light in the ceiling

It was back to Brian & Annette´s in Cabo Roig
This time to update their tired and bored kitchen.
Remove everything, as well as the horrible original wall tiles, and start again.
This time with a large format matt white tile and grout.
New units and some new appliances.
The doors are a pale lacquered matt green finish, and a large 50x 40 white under bowl sink with Blanco Zeus worktop from Cosentio complete with a fluted drainer.
All the fitting and electrical covers are finished in matt black to match the tap

The Cowboys strike again.

Gary & Julie in Los Altos called me in.
The supposed builder they used got this far with the job, they had advanced him 3/4 of the money, and then he walked off.
3months later, he still hadn’t returned.
It wasn’t hard to see why, he didn’t have a clue what he was doing.
He took their money and ran.

This is why it is so important to hire legal contractors.
If it all goes wrong, you have a course of redress, it also shows that they have a commitment to the system and staying for the long term.

Who is legal? They aren't legal if they don’t charge IVA and produce an invoice.
You have no protection.

Not much to photograph this week, so time to revisit an en-suite bathroom I did for David & Sarah in Playa Flamenca a while back.
This house had been empty for 8 yrs
The en-suit was a mess.
I stripped everything out back to bare walls an concrete floor. and started again.
The walls were plasterboard and tiled
All the electrics and plumbing and waste system were replaced.
Suspended toilet, suspended ceiling with downlights, walk-in shower, fabulous Salgar furniture, I can't find the before photos but here are a couple of the finished job
