Potencia…. It is that time of year a lot of people exceed their contracted potencia and are plunged into darkness! In Spain we have a contracted potencia, this is the amount of electricity we can consume at any one time. Air con, pool pumps, cooking etc means we may be consuming too much electricity.

You click their profile and discover they appear to specialise in fishing, karaoke and sharing conspiracy theories.

Nothing whatsoever suggests they're an electrician.

Then come the handymen.

"𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪."

Mate.

With the greatest respect...

Putting together an IKEA coffee table and changing a bathroom door hinge is not quite the same as rewiring an entire property.

At first glance that sounds like a bargain.

Until six months later when half the sockets don't work, the lights flicker every time you boil a kettle, and a genuine electrician has to come and put everything right.

Congratulations.

You've now spent:

💶 €2,500 on the cowboy.

💶 €5,000 on the real electrician.
