Located in Poblenou, Barcelona, we have been developing the renovation of Carla Cascales’ studio. The renovation began in spring, and during the summer, the existing roof was removed to bring more light into the space. The next step will be to install new skylights, washing the interior with natural light. Geometric repetition is one of the key elements throughout the renovation, simplifying the existing structure and creating a coherent backdrop for artistic expression.

The project is conceived as an active void: a neutral container in which new interventions are designed as autonomous volumes, independent of the existing structure and standing freely within the space as sculptural objects.

Rather than a conventional studio, it is imagined as an expanded field of creation, where emptiness is not absence but the condition that enables objects, artworks, and people to engage in a dynamic dialogue with the space.
