Through model making, ideas become tangible. Proportions are tested and relationships explored. It is an essential part of the design process. Our Model Makers work alongside each project as it develops, helping us refine ideas along the way.

A model will soon be on view in Barcelona as part of an initiative marking the World Capital of Architecture and the European Capital of Local Commerce.

Our intervention at Casa Batlló Contemporary extends beyond the architecture itself. The ceiling we designed becomes a defining element of the space, now entering into dialogue with a new exhibition.

Casa Batlló Contemporary presents Gaudí – Miró – Gomis: Deconstructed, an exhibition co-organized with Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona.

Original works by Joan Miró, Joaquim Gomis’ photographic record of Gaudí’s architecture and a contemporary video produced by TomorrowBureau come together within the space, creating a new conversation between architecture, art and image.

Six hundred and five thousand mud bricks will form a building’s outer façade. Made from earth, water and natural fibres, we reintroduce a traditional material into a contemporary urban context.

This new project reinterprets the Mediterranean home through material honesty, spatial generosity and climatic intelligence. The house follows the site’s topography, where stepped levels create a hierarchy of spaces. Compact service cores free the plan, allowing for visual continuity and natural cross ventilation.

Echoing the writings of Josep Pla and the poetry of Josep Maria de Sagarra, light, pine and wind become part of the architecture’s vocabulary. It’s a place to live slowly, openly and with purpose.

This year the Mesura team gathered at Casa Balma Murada for a visit, followed by a dinner to welcome new chapters. A moment for both reflection and celebration.

Honoured to host the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona panel discussion “Reconstructing Memory: Ruins, Interiors, and the Politics of Preservation.”

Preservation is approached here as a negotiation with time rather than a fixation on image. From seismic rehabilitation of earthen fortifications to contemporary structures layered over ruins and the critique of interior erasure, the contributions expose how architecture embodies memory unevenly. Structural continuity, material repair, and spatial loss intersect, revealing tensions between conservation narratives and the fragile persistence of lived experience.

A new residential development in El Gouna, Egypt, where apartments and villas coexist within a shared landscape shaped by water, climate, and local culture.

The project reinterprets vernacular Egyptian architecture through pure geometries, sculptural volumes, courtyards, and earthy tones.

Video 1) Michael Graves’ El Gouna project also served as a reference, blending postmodern forms with traditional Egyptian architecture through villas and communal spaces around lagoons and gardens.

Video 2) Traditional El Gouna’s architecture and archival drawings helped define our approach.
