Skogfinsk museum | From Vernacular to Forest Ensemble
Starting from the traditional single-storey volume crowned by a pitched roof—so typical of Skogfinn heritage—the new complex is formed through the aggregation and reinterpretation of these familiar geometries. Despite its presence, the building reads as a series of light structures set among the trees, softening the perceived scale of the whole.

Skogfinsk museum | Timber and Fire
In line with its aim to reinterpret elements of Skogfinsk tradition, the museum will be built in charred timber. This technique preserves the wood through the controlled use of fire, giving it a refined black hue while improving its durability. The result is a material of quiet resilience, with an extended lifespan and minimal maintenance.
