Developed by the National Asthma Council Australia, the Sensitive Choice program helps identify products that contribute to improved indoor environments for individuals sensitive to air quality.

On this International Recycling Day, we want to ask a question that matters more than any claim.

At Graphenstone, we work with mineral-based formulations, materials selected according to circularity principles, post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) packaging, and products designed to last longer and optimise resources.

In addition, many of our products are certified by Cradle to Cradle® (C2C), a global standard based on circular economy principles that evaluates areas such as material health, circularity, responsible resource use and environmental impact.

What do we mean when we say our lime-based paints absorb CO₂?

Not all paints absorb CO₂. This natural property is specifically linked to lime-based formulations during the carbonation process.

As the coating cures, the lime reacts naturally with CO₂ present in the atmosphere, transforming it into calcium carbonate, part of the traditional lime cycle.

This reaction happens mainly during the 30 days after application and contributes to reducing part of the environmental impact associated with construction materials.

In larger architectural projects, where wider surface areas are involved, this contribution becomes increasingly meaningful. Especially considering that not all paints absorb CO₂, choosing lime-based mineral coatings is a more conscious and coherent material choice.

Lime-based paints are not a complete climate solution, but they represent a more responsible mineral technology within the built environment.

Performance testing updated to maintain CE marking compliance for our exterior coatings.

CE marking confirms that a product meets the essential requirements of the European Union in terms of safety, health and environmental protection.

For exterior coatings, it also validates suitability for applications such as concrete protection in accordance with UNE-EN 1504-2.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted by many construction materials and can significantly impact indoor air quality. For this reason, emissions must be measured and verified.

At Graphenstone, we develop mineral-based formulations with extremely low VOCs content, resulting in emissions at near-zero levels.

Our coatings are supported by independent certifications such as Indoor Air Comfort Gold (Eurofins) and A+, meeting some of the most demanding European standards for indoor air quality.

The Colour Collection 2026 explores how colour can contribute to spatial well-being beyond aesthetics.
This tones provide visual calm, balance and comfort, compatible with lime-based mineral paints, respecting material integrity and high breathability.

In systems such as Ambient Pro+, colour becomes part of a photocatalytic and breathable formulation that absorbs CO₂ during curing and, through a natural reaction with light, helps to reduce airborne pollutants including NOx, SOx, formaldehydes and certain VOCs.

Because colour can also be integrated into a healthy building system, designed to support both the space and the people who inhabit it.

We have implemented a water management system that reduces freshwater consumption by operating in a closed-loop cycle. Wastewater is treated through evaporation, transforming it into purified water that is reused within our production process and for equipment cleaning.
